State Street Design Project

It likely goes without saying, but we LOVE historic properties. We live for their history. We rehab and revive them. We live and work in them. So when a fellow small-business-owning couple (with absolutely AMAZING taste) invited us to transform the dining space in their historic downtown Newburgh home, we were overly anxious to dive in. Their request was for something bold and nontraditional in the dining and living areas. What resulted is a stunning, contemporary space with bold colors and thoughtful details. The aesthetic of the dining room is beautifully balanced by the historic, structural characteristics of the home. Phase two, the living area, is in progress. But we just couldn't wait to show you this hits- all-the-senses space! We balanced a statement light fixture with bright velvet chairs and a mirrored console. Gold textured seagrass wallpaper add warmth and interest to the walls. Custom draperies are always our go-to for creating a sense of warmth. We opted for a warm ivory with subtle texture. They were the perfect touch to frame the windows and complete the space. Stay tuned for phase two of this beautiful home!
